The PCSWCD hosted a pond clinic on August 26, 2023 from 9 AM to 11 AM. It was held at the Kickapoo Sportsman Club just outside of Kickapoo. About 40 people came to listen to Rob Hilsabeck give us his knowledge about pond plants, and animals, fish stocking and other questions. It was a warm day, and with the help of one of the attendees, Rob shocked the pond, we then went and sat under the pavilion to a question and answer session. It was a very informative day. Most people left before the rain hit and cooled off. Thank you Rob for taking time out of your day to lead this clinic.

BIOREACTOR: MIKE WINDISH FARM
During the summer of 2017, The Peoria County SWCD partnered with the Peoria County Farm Bureau, NRCS, Timewell Drainage, and AKW Excavating, Inc to install a denitrifying bioreactor at one of Mike Windish farms. We held a field day at the farm so everyone could see the installation of the bioreactor. Currently we are collecting information from this bioreactor by collecting water samples each week. Be looking for information from this in the spring. Click on the link to the story that appeared on WEEK, Channel 25.
